Acupuncture is the insertion of very fine, single use, sterile needles into specific points locatated on the body. I trained at the Northern College of Acupuncture for 3 years and gained over 550 clinical hours of experience treating patients. This means I have the knowledge base to give treatments from both a Western medical view point - using needles to stimulate sensory nerves to affect the body, as well as the ability to diagnose and treat from a Tradition Chinese Medicine prespective using the bodies own Qi and meridians.
There is an ever increasing evidence base showing the effectiveness of acupuncture. It is recommended by NICE (The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence) that acupuncture is recommended for chronic (long-term) pain.
I personally feel comfortable treating and have seen good results for:
-
Headache
-
Migraine
-
Vertigo/dizziness
-
Allergic rhinitis
-
Anxiety
-
Digestive issues
-
Insomnia/sleep issues/fatigue
-
Arthritis and Musculoskeletal pain
-
Menstrual issues
